Corrective Words on Spiritual Gifts

I.  Spiritual gifts focus attention on a right understanding of Jesus Christ.  (1 Cor. 12:1-3)

II.  Spiritual gifts all have the same, sovereign source, the Holy Spirit.  (1 Cor. 12:4-11)

III.  Spiritual gifts are universally given to the church body.  (1 Cor. 12:12-31a)

IV.  Spiritual gifts are only profitable when exercised in love.  (1 Cor. 12:31b-13:13)

V.  Spiritual gifts must be used in the corportate gathering of the church in a manner that is edifying to the local body.  (1 Cor. 14:1-25)

VI.  Spiritual gifts must contribute to orderly worship of the Lord.  (1 Cor. 14:26-40)
