Salvation Results in Spiritual Position

God is in the busines of taking those who have no exalted position and no prestige, and granting them privilege and position as His priests.  Peter clearly teaches that true salvation makes all who are saved priests of the Most High God.  Here we have taught what is known as the priesthood of the believer.

I.  Like Aaron we have been called to a position of great honor.  (see Ex. 28:1-3; 1 Peter 2:1-10)

     A.  Like Aaron, we have been called out of the multitude.  (Ex. 28:1; 1 Pet. 2:9)

     B.  Like Aaron, we have been called to minister to God.

II.  Like Aaron, we have been called to a position requiring holiness.  (1 Peter 2:5; Lev. 10:1-11)

III.  Like Aaron, we have been called to a position of offering sacrifices.  (1 Peter 2:5; 1 Sam. 13:8-14; Lev. 5:5-6)

Unlike Aaron, we offer spiritual, not physical sacrifices.

IV.  Like Aaron, we have been called to a position without earthly inheritance. (1 Peter 1:4; Num. 18:20)

V.  Like Aaron, we have been called to a position of intercession.  (Lev. 16:6, 15-17)
