The Reality of Antichrists

"Opposition to your walk with Christ gives assurance as to the reality of your faith."

I.  John reminds his readers of his love for them.  (2:18a)

     A.  He shows his love for the people through the use of the word children.

     B.  He shows his love for the people by warning them concerning the opposition they face.

II.  John reveals to his readers a great enemy.  (2: 18c)

     A.  There is a singel antichrist.

     B.  There are many antichrists.

III.  John revisits the urgency of steadfast living.  (2:18b, d)

     A.  The last hour is the time of the church age.

     B.  The last hour is evidenced by the urgent work of the enemies of Christ.

     C.  The last hour demands an urgency among God's people.

          1.  There is an ugent need to learn of Christ.

          2.  There is an urgent need to serve Christ.
