For all believers, present reality assures future glory.
II. What we will be in Christ. (1 John 3:2)
A. The unknowable. (3:2b)
"and what we will be has not yet appeared" There are many things in the future of the believer that cannot be known this side of eternity. Let us rejoice that the best is yet to come.
B. The knowable. (3:2a, c)
1. We know that we are presently God's children.
"we are God's children now"
2. We know that we will one day see and be like our Lord.
""when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is" The full blessing of this is better realized when it is remembered that, not even Moses could see God in His glory and live.
C. The glory.
We will see the Lord Jesus in His full glory. We will no longer see through a glass dimly, but will see Him face to face.
