Prophets, both in the OT and NT receive a message from God that is accurately communicated to their hearers.
Is the NT prophet held to a lesser standard than the OT prophet (see Deut. 13:1-5; 18:20-22)? We will answer this question with a no.
If the prophets aided in laying the foundation of the church, with Jesus as the Chief Cornerstone, then they, along with the apostles spoke the truth, for no other foundation could be laid that would have been sufficient for the church. (Eph. 2:20)
