It is good to keep in mind as Jesus leaves the upper room with His disciples and heads toward the brook Kidron, it was running, not with the waters of some cool spring, but with the blood of the sacrificial animals slain at the temple.

III. Jesus intructs His disciples about the inner workings of the Triune God. (Jn. 14:28c)
IV. Jesus prophesies His departure and return in order to confirm His disciples' belief. (Jn. 14:29)
V. Jesus urges His disciples to understand His victory over Satan. (Jn. 14:30)
VI. Jesus manifests His love for the Father through willing obedience. (Jn. 14:31; He headed for the cross.)
