The Basics of Gospel Witness (Pt. 2)

I.  The way of God is to be our way.  (1 John 4:11)

     A.  God's love is giving.  (1 John 4:9)

     B.  God's love is sacrificial.  (1 John 3:16-18; 4:10)

     C.  God's love is righteous.  (1 John 3:11-15)

     D.  God's love is forgiving.  (1 John 4:10)

     E.  God's love is winsome.  (1 John 4:12)

II.  The witness of the church is dependent on God's way being evident in the church.  (1 John 4:12)

     A.  God cannot be seen by mortal man.

     B.  God's love was seen through His Son.

     C.  God's love is seen through His church.

          Herein the church can be a proper witness to the world.
