God's Grace Toward Straying Believers

I.  Beware of the lures of the world, you may get what you are seeking.  (Gen. 19:1)

     A.  Lot pitched his tent toward Sodom.  (The lure of greed.)

     B.  Lot moved into Sodom.  (The lure of comfort.)

     C.  Lot became "somebody" in Sodom.  (The lure of popularity and power.)

II.  Beware of seeking the world, you will get what you do not want.  (Gen. 19:1b-30)

     A.  Lot became a target for Sodom's perversion.  (19:4-11)

     B.  Lot became a laughing stock in the eyes of even those closest to him.  (19:12-14)

     C.  Lot became slovenly in his obedience to God.  (19:15-16)

     D.  Lot became foolish in his thinking.  (19:17-22)

III.  Beware of seeking the world, its pleasures and treasures will not last.  (Gen. 19:14-36)

     A.  Lot lost his sons-in-law.  (19:14)

     B.  Lot lost his possessions.  (19:15-16)

     C.  Lot lost his wife.  (19:26)

     D.  Lot lost his daughters.  (19:31-36)

     E.  Lot lost his testimony for God.

IV.  Bask in the magnitude of God's grace.
