Flipping Right and Wrong

I.  God's patience can reach its limits.  (Mal. 2:17a)

II.  Man's hypocrisy blinds him to the reality of his own sin.  (Mal. 2:17b)

     A.  Evil mankind often attacks the foundation of orderly society, the family.  (2:10-16)

          1.  An attack on unity in marriage.

          2.  An attack on permanency in marriage.

          3.  An attack on children.

     B.  Evil mankind often attacks the foundation of right understanding of God's truth.  (2:5-9)

     C.  Evil mankind often attacks the foundation of worship.  (1:6-14)

III.  Man's selfishness causes him to call God's goodness into question.  (Mal. 2:17c)

IV.  Man's selfishness causes him to think of God as being unjust.  (Mal. 2:17d)

V.  God's response is to condemn the hypocrisy of selfish men with their own words and thoughts.
