The Natural Outflow of Eternal Life

True Knowledge; True Assurance

Jul 24, 2016

Series: True Knowledge; True Assurance | Category: 1, 2, 3 John | Scripture: 1 John 5:14–15 | Tags: Doctrine, Sermons, Lordship, Prayer, Encouragement

Prayer is an acknowledgement that we are not sovereign and that God is!

I.  Prayer is the natural outflow of eternal life.  (1 John 5:13-14a)

II.  Prayer carries assurances with it.  (1 John 5:14-15)

III.  Prayer demands submissino to God's will.  (1 John 5:14)

In prayer personal self-interest is to be put aside and the accomplishment of  the will of God for the glory of God is to take center stage.

God simply will not hear the prayers of those who pray in order to further their own causes rather than His.

IV.  Prayer will be heard by God.  (1 John 5:14b, 15b)
