I.  Brotherly love demands that we pray for our sinning brothers and sisters in Christ.  (1 John 5:16a)

     A.  The believer's attitude when a brother sins.

          1.  The believer's attitude is not to be that of a spiritual inquisitor.

          2.  The believer's attitude is to be that of a compassionate fellow sinner.

     B.  The believer's action when he sees a brother or sister committing sin.

     C.  God's actions when a believer sins, and our brethren pray.

II.  Brotherly love does not demand that we pray for those who have sinned a sin unto death.  (1 John 5:16b)

III.  Brotherly love demands that we recognize our own unworthiness.  (1 John 5:17)

     All sin is wrongdoing, and is damnable.  (5:17a)
