I. Good intentions often need to be communicated before we take action. (Josh. 22:10)
It is all too easy to assume too much. Even good intentions do not negate the need for good communication.
II. The holiness of God is worth fighting for. (Josh. 2:11-12)
III. Before you fight or falsely accuse, seek understanding. (Josh. 22:13-34)
A. Confrontation needs to be as specific as possible. (22:13-16)
B. Confrontation needs to remind everyone of the holiness of God and the dangers involved in disobedience. (22:17-18, 20)
C. Confrontation is to be all about reconciliation and God's glory, so much so that it evidences a willingness to suffer loss. (22:19)
D. Confrontation that is in error needs to be met with a humble explanation. (22:21-29)
E. Confrontation that is in error needs to be admitted and forsalen. (22:30-31)
F. Corporate joy is to be the result of proper responses to confrontation. (22:30-34)
